Meet Dr. Tiffany Barrett

Dr. Tiffany BarrettAbout me:

I was born in Rochester, MN, but moved to Austin, Texas when I was 6 years old. My family had enough of the below freezing weather in Minnesota and have since enjoyed the long hot summers here. I became interested in the medical field when a pediatrician came to my elementary school to talk to my class about medicine. While attending Westwood high school, I shadowed the office of local Austin periodontist, Dr. David Yu, and my eyes became open to the endless possibilities in dentistry. Dr. Yu really influenced my decision to pursue dentistry because of his passion and ability to connect and care for every one of his patients.

Patient care:

I have always been involved in children’s ministry at my local church through Awana and serving middle school and high school youth groups. This translated into my decision to pursue pediatric dentistry. I have a passion for education, special needs and helping patients and their families figure out healthy eating habits and build strong oral hygiene foundations. I want to make dentistry fun and informative for the children and I want everyone to feel like family in our office.

Family:

I met my husband, Ethan, while attending Baylor University. We got married during my pediatric dental residency when we lived in Los Angeles. When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with Ethan and our baby daughter, Rosemary. She loves the neighborhood park so you will often find the three of us sliding and swinging together! We are huge foodies and love to find hole in the wall restaurants around Austin, so please pass on your recommendations for your favorite hidden gems.

Community:

I am a member of Mosaic Church and I serve in the children’s ministry, MKids. You will most likely see me on Sundays holding and playing with young infants. My husband and I also are involved with the Christian Medical and Dental Association San Antonio chapter and serve on dental mission trips with refugees in San Antonio and in the Dominican Republic.
